"Marie", my alter ego, was inspired by Marie-Antoinette queen of France, wife to Louis the 16th, and the carefree and detached spirit of the Rococo era. Marie was born out of my own wedding ceremony in 2009 and represents my naivety as a young woman yet unaware and disconnected from the experience of grief, rage and the suffering of the world. She is my inner maiden, the inner child who just wants to play and be the center of attention.
In this performance, I dream i'm transformed into Marie and absorbed by a trance in which she consumes me.
